I am enjoying time at the retreat with the TN corporate executive team and their families. It is wonderful. The retreat is peaceful, inviting and breathtaking. It is the quiet beauty and the opportunities for growing and sharing I love.

I spend my mornings on the deck with my bible, the sunrise, breeze, birds chirping and animals waking up. I love it!  It's the calm before the storm. Why? We have a full house here -- 24 people. When they awake we will make breakfast and then enjoy a busy day of boating, games and more. It got me thinking about balance. Some look for balance every moment of their life and get frustrated. I look for balance overall, not every moment. This is a lesson I learned in the last couple of years.

Mornings for me can be the calm before the storm because I find peace and balance in the mornings. But not all mornings start this peaceful. During the work week at home my mornings are busy with making lunch, getting ready, making breakfast, getting my daughter up and to school or camp.

I enjoy all of that, even as busy as it can be. Yet, some mornings I find the calm, and I’m grateful for the balance of that moment. I generally look for an overall weekly balance. It's more realistic in my life. Whenever I try to find balance every day I get mad at myself or frustrated that I didn't get it. Consequently, if I am easier on myself and look for it weekly instead, I am more at peace. I encourage you to find your calm and balance this week.
