Recently, I was exercising on a cruise ship. It was early one morning and the sun was slowly rising. I began by warming up with a fast walk on the track and loved how I could watch the sun rise and see the beauty of the ocean around me so easily. Other people on the ship were also on the track, some walking and some running. I decided to run a few laps and it was terrific. I felt energized and it was super. The more I ran, the more momentum I had. And, I loved being around the other runners, it made me go faster. Yet, I realized it was hard to fully watch the sunrise and see its beauty. One of the reasons I was up so early, was to enjoy the sunrise.  So, I decided to do a run/walk. I kept switching from a run to a walk, so that I could enjoy the momentum that a run gave me while still seeing the beauty that a walk allowed as well.

It got me thinking about life and the balance we all need. Sometimes we run so much, that we forget to see the beauty around us. Or we walk so much, that we don't have any momentum. I believe that in life and in business we need a balance of both. Running helps us gain momentum and energy. While walking allows us to see the beauty around us and to pay attention to what is going on. If we do too much of one or the other we get off balance. So, in life, exercise and business try to run and walk. This is a winning combination that will help you balance it all.

To your health,
