Today, I was reminded of the importance of enjoying the moment you are in. I have several plaques in my office and at home that remind me to enjoy the moment. One says, “Live, Love, Laugh” another says “Keep Calm and Carry On”. Yet today, I witnessed this in real life and it was so neat. Let me explain. This morning as normal, I dropped my daughter off at school curbside and waited in line to exit the school parking lot. If you need to park and walk your child in to class, you are required to park across the street and walk about 70 yards on a sidewalk, on a busy street to get to the campus. Today a man and his young daughter reminded me to live in the moment.
As I waited to pull out onto the busy street, I watched a man who is probably 6 ft tall, 240 pounds of muscle, wearing business clothes cross the street with his petite, young daughter, who is probably 5 years old. When they reached the sidewalk, the young girl was holding the man’s hand and started to skip, the man smiled down at her and started skipping down the sidewalk with her as if he always skips! It was so cool. I love that he encouraged his daughter’s fun side, and he encouraged me today also. He reminded me to allow my fun side to show regardless of where I am, where I am going, or what I’m wearing. I love that a man 6 ft tall, 240 pounds, wearing business clothes would skip for 70 yards on a busy street. His actions today taught all who were watching to live in the moment and skip down the sidewalk.

“Dance, like nobody’s watching.I hope today you will enjoy the moment and skip. I will.
Love, like you will never get hurt.
Sing, like there is nobody listening.
Live, like it is heaven on earth.”
